Zotero: About
Zotero

Everything you need to know about using this FREE citation manager.

Other Options

Zotero isn't the only reference manager out there -- although it is free and easy to use.  If you'd like to try something else, start by checking out this comparison chart by the University of Wisconsin.  It compares four major reference tools:  RefWorks, Mendeley, EndNote, and Zotero.

At this time, Cummings is unable to provide institutional access to fee-based citation tools, but individuals are welcome to subscribe on their own.

To check out these tools directly, use the links below.

About Zotero

What Zotero Does

Zotero (pronounced "zoh-TAIR-oh") is a Firefox add-on that collects, manages, and cites research sources. It's easy to use, lives in your web browser where you do your work, and best of all,  it's free.

Chrome and Safari extensions are also available.

Zotero allows you to attach PDFs, notes and images to your citations, organize them into collections for different projects, and create bibliographies.

It automatically updates itself periodically to work with new online sources and new bibliographic styles.

Installing Zotero

This video will show you how to get started. For more details, see the next page: Installing Zotero for Firefox.
