The master textbook list, with alternate formats and accessible options

Introduction

List of Textbooks for All MHL Courses

While every attempt is made to keep this list up-to-date, course textbooks are subject to change. Be sure to check the course syllabus and the individual course's online classroom for the most current information.

Students are responsible for purchasing textbooks and supplies separately.  Their costs are not included in tuition.  Students may purchase or rent textbooks from any vendor.

More than one textbook may be required for each course.  Instructors may also recommend textbooks for supplemental reading.  These optional books will be listed in the syllabus and online classroom.

The APA Publication Manual, 7th Edition,  is a required book for every course.

While this list makes every attempt to be current and accurate, changes do occur.  Please consult with your advisor or the course instructor if you have any questions.

Required Textbooks for MHL Program

Required Textbooks for the MHL Program

If a book can be read in the CORE Library, it will be noted with the book icon. This means that there is one electronic reserve copy available that can be read for 2 hours at a time. The individual student must decide whether the limitations of a shared ebook are manageable for study purposes.

If a book will be provided via download in the online classroom, it will be noted with the download icon. This means that the book can be downloaded as a PDF in the online classroom.

Recommended texts are not listed here, but may be noted in the course syllabus or shared by instructors in the course.

Date of last update for titles of required texts:  January 13, 2021

Date of last list price update:  October 5, 2022.  Publisher list prices are updated annually around the start of the Fall term.  Prices may be for either hardcover or paperback editions, depending upon what was widely available at the time.

* indicates that a new edition will be published soon.  Be sure to check back before you take the course to see if the current required text has been replaced with a new edition.
