Levels of Evidence

A care management tool used by many MCOs is evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.  There are resources available for summaries of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.  While some require subscriptions, all provide  available research evidence to guide clinical decision making.

Assignments in MHL 4600 may require that you investigate evidence-based practice tools.  Possibilities include the following:

• The "Guidelines":  The National Guidelines Clearinghouse.  While no longer updated, the Guidelines still provide much relevant information. 
• The Innovations Exchange:  https://www.innovations.ahrq.gov/  
• Dynamed:  Access Dynamed at https://www.dynamed.com/  and use your CORE Library username & password to log in.  (More information on Dynamed and how to access)
• Cochrane Clinical Answers, available through the CORE Library.  You can access the database in one of two ways:

Option 1.  Perform any search so you are logged in to the library.  Use the Search by Database tab in the navigation bar to access a list of all databases, and select Cochrane Clinical Answers.

Option 2.  Perform any search.  Cochrane Clinical Answers is automatically searched along with every database, and then scan the results to see if any are available from this database.
