Grand Rounds

Our purpose is to guide individuals in the process of presenting at Grand Rounds grand rounds. Grand Rounds is a poster presentation venue offered twice a year to employees and students to present their Evidence Based Research (EBP) projects.

This event is open to all employees and/or students to include, but not be limited to: Nursing, Physicians, Faculty, Graduate Medical Education (GME) Residents, Pharmacy, Dietary, Case Management, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Spiritual Care

The following are some examples of projects that may be presented:

  • Scholarly Research Project - publication
  • Evidence Based Practice Project – bedside practice change
  • Quality Improvement Project – improve quality of care and reduce cost
  • Case Report - review

Guideline(s):

  1. The following roles must submit their poster drafts to Clinical Education for approval prior to Grand Rounds.

    • Employees

    • Nurses

    • RN Residents

    • Capstone Students

    • Nursing Students

    • Faculty

  2. The following roles will submit list of participants and title of poster prior to Grand Rounds to Clinical Education

    • GME Residents

    • Pharmacy Residents

    • Dietary Interns

    • Spiritual Care Residents

    • Social Workers

      3. For all nursing roles (including students), poster requirements

  • Unit Educators must review poster presentations prior to RN(s) submitting their poster

  • Poster presentations will be limited to no more than 3 participants per poster

  • Employees must utilize current poster template (see link below)

  • Poster to be submitted to Clinical Education at least 30 days prior to Grand Rounds

  • After receipt of poster draft, it will be reviewed by the Grand Rounds Committee, feedback provided, and returned for modifications within 5 work days.

  • All final poster presentations with modifications, if applicable, must be completed no later than 14 business days prior to scheduled presentation to allow for printing.

  • References utilized must be current within the last 5 years and in APA format.

Grand Rounds Day of Event (applicable to all disciplines)

  • The display of posters will start at 11:30 a.m. participants should be stationed by their posters no later than 12:00 p.m. to answer any questions from attendees.

  • Grand Rounds event is scheduled from 12:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. in the Administration building. 

  • During the guided poster walk, presenters will have 1-3 minutes for a brief description of their project. 

  • It is the expectation that everyone keep the posters up until 2:30 p.m.

  • Presentation etiquette is an expectation for presenters as well as attendees: silence phones, poster questions welcomed at the conclusion of each poster presentation
