IHI (Institute for Healthcare Improvement) Open School: Free online courses

HonorHealth Residents are eligible to take IHI Open School courses, including any from the 13-module curriculum for a Basic Certificate in Quality and Safety

Interested?  HonorHealth Residents / Fellows follow these steps:

  1. Create an account at my.ihi.org, and you are registered. Be sure to download the IHI Open School User Guide for step-by-step instructions.
  2. Do not make entries to the payment form or else it will invoice you. 
  3. You have a 24-hour wait for the IHI Open School to validate your eligibiity.  At that time, go directly to the Education Platform Login page to access the courses.

* Courses of interest include:

  • Leadership (L 101) 
  • Triple Aim (TA 101)
  • Patient Safety (PS 101-105)
  • Quality Improvement (QI 101-105) 
  • Person-and Family Centered Care (PFC 101)

Residents have access to a variety of exam prep materials in our electronic and print collection. We have print MKSAP sets and other study guides and textbooks. AccessMedicine is a comprehensive resource for self-assessment. It incorporates a variety of study modalities, such as case-based board review, quizzes and flashcards based on textbooks and basic topics, an extensive multimedia library of procedural videos and lectures, and more.

      Our EBSCO books collection also offers review books for various specialties. Reach out to a librarian for more information.
