Patient education is a process used by health care professionals to transfer knowledge, skills, and behaviors to patients and caregivers so they can act to maintain or improve health.
Health literacy is the ability of a patient or caregiver to use, read, understand, and follow instructions for treatment. and make health decisions that are best for them.
Numeracy (number, or mathematical literacy) is the ability to access, use, interpret, and communicate mathematical information and ideas, and to engage in and manage mathematical demands of a range of situations in adult life.
