Numeracy (number, or mathematical literacy) is the ability to access, use, interpret, and communicate mathematical information and ideas, and to engage in and manage mathematical demands of a range of situations in adult life. This includes the ability to apply basic arithmetic skills to concepts of size, weight, dimension, costs, probability, risk, making change, handling personal finances, following a recipe, and understanding a graph.
