Need more sources for a literature review?  Has your search stalled with only one or two useful items?  A technique called "citation mining"  can help you to find more on your topic. This can take one of several forms:

  1. Look at the reference list of your resources to find the sources that those authors used.
  2. Find out who has cited your resources.
  3. Find more resources written by the same author or published in the same journal.

The CORE Library's Research Guide on Citation Mining includes tips for mining articles plus a helpful video that demonstrates several techniques for mining an article for additional relevant resources.  It's the best way to kick a stalled search into high gear!
