Need more sources for a literature review? Has your search stalled with only one or two useful items? A technique called "citation mining" can help you to find more on your topic. This can take one of several forms:
- Look at the reference list of your resources to find the sources that those authors used.
- Find out who has cited your resources.
- Find more resources written by the same author or published in the same journal.
The CORE Library's Research Guide on Citation Mining includes tips for mining articles plus a helpful video that demonstrates several techniques for mining an article for additional relevant resources. It's the best way to kick a stalled search into high gear!
