About the Library

The Medical Library is open to all staff of Phoenix Children's Hospital. Our patients and their families are welcome to use the library on a limited basis, but will be directed to The Emily Center when appropriate.  Phoenix Children's employees can access online library resources on the intranet.  You must be on campus to use these resources.

Resources:

The Medical Library has access to a variety of electronic journals and databases through its membership in the Arizona Health Information Network (AZHIN). The library is also a member of The Medical Library Association, the Central Arizona Biomedical Libraries (CABL) group, and the Medical Library Group of Southern California and Arizona (MLGSCA).

 Services:

The Medical Library provides the following resources and services:

  • Access to medical books and journals, both hard copy and electronic. Certain items may be checked out by Hospital staff.
  • Access to medical databases such as Medline, CINAHL, UpToDate, Health Business, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, and Stat!Ref. You must obtain a login and password from the librarian to access these databases.
  • Literature searches and procurement of articles through interlibrary loan services. Contact the librarianto request a literature search or to order articles.
  • Public computers in the library have access to the Internet and Microsoft office programs.
